Sauze d'Oulx School Ski Trips
Superb Skiing in One of Italy's Best Loved Ski Resorts

The Resort:

At the foot of Monte Genevris, looking out across the Susa valley, Sauz d’Oulx is often called the balcony of the Alps. The town itself is in the Piedmont region of Northwest Italy and sits snugly amongst swathes of trees. Part of the Milky Way ski area, the slopes are North facing to guarantee good quality snow throughout the season. The resort has a ski history, with it being the site of freestyle skiing events at the 2006 Winter Olympics. The old part of the town has a charming feel to it, combined with the more modern areas to create a location ideal for your next school ski trip.

Skiing in Sauze d’Oulx:

As part of the Milky Way ski area, the opportunities here are outstanding with a wide variety in distance and difficulty. For beginner and intermediate groups, there are long winding blue runs and a collection of red runs that make for the perfect chance to develop ski skills. There are passes available to provide access to locations like Sestriere, Sansicario, and Cesana as well. There is great off-piste potential, whilst many of the best runs whip through trees down to the village in some of Italy’s best tree skiing. When snowfall occurs, fresh powder is left for days, and the impressive 1000 snow cannons maintain the flawless pistes all season long.

For schools because:

Accessibility within Sauze is one of its many strengths. Many city stations such as Milan, Turin, and Paris provide train routes. Ski-in accommodation options are also available which provides superb accessibility in the resort itself. Due to its links to other ski areas and its own vastness another strength of the resort is its endless opportunities for adventures making it perfect for large school groups willing to explore.

Après ski:

Sauze d’Oulx is arguably larger than many other resort towns, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t lost the Italian charm of other resorts. The old town of Oulx is an enchanting place close by, ideal for an afternoon’s wander. In the main town itself, there are boutiques and local produce shops as well as a weekly street market to purchase presents and food items. As you would expect from Italy, the standard of restaurants is high alongside multiple pleasant cafes to take a well-earned break from the slopes.
